These three figures found on a large boulder at the base of Cedar Mountain in the San Rafael Swell are known as the Daisy Chain. There are a few other petroglyph panels found in the area that are easily accessible and very well known.
Black & White Shaman
An excellent example of a Fremont anthropomorph found high above Clear Creek in Fremont Indian State Park. I liked the way that this one looked in black and white over the color version.
Nefertiti Elk
A well-executed panel of large elk or deer petroglyphs line the canyon wall along the Green River in the Book Cliffs.
Fallen Roof Ruin
The Fallen Roof Ruin is one of those iconic locations on Cedar Mesa that every landscape photographer seems to have a photo of in their portfolio. That distinction is well deserved since this ruin is built in an amazing setting and is very photogenic. It’s a very nice hike to visit this ruin and there is so much else in the area to see and explore!
